Currently, bushfires in Australia are being increasingly prevented by local communities in an attempt to reduce the damage caused by severe fires. This strategy has proven detrimental in recent years as larger, more aggressive fires have been occurring that cause increased damaged to properties and communities, in comparison to frequent, smaller fires that benefit the environment overall through regeneration of sprouts and increased soil nutrition.
